Scotch Bonnet Pepper

Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauces - Available at The Hot Sauce MallOne of our favorite peppers here at HotSauceMall is the fiery & flavorful Scotch Bonnet. The Scotch Bonnet pepper packs quite a bit of heat, generally between 100,000- 350,000 Scoville Units, similar to the habanero.

The pepper may be red, as featured in Matouk’s Flambeau Sauce or yellow like in Burns & McCoy Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce or sometimes orange like Jrk! Bonnet Sauce

It’s size ranges from 1 to 2 1/2 inches in length and from 1 to 2 inches in diameter. It’s shape is similar to the habanero, though flatter and wider, resembling a hat, hence, the name.

The flavor is fruity and bright, with hints of apple, cherry, tomato and a bit of sweetness. The Scotch Bonnet adds great flavor to sauces like Cheeba Gold Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce and Heartbreaking Dawns Papa Boi Caribbean Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce

The Scotch Bonnet pepper is very often used in Caribbean cooking, where it originated and is widely grown. Dishes like jerk chicken and oxtail stew require the flavor and heat of the Scotch Bonnet. Two of our favorite hot sauces to cook with are Hellfire Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce and Walkerswood Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce

So if you’re looking for a hot sauce that just might knock your socks off, yet with great flavor, try any of the Scotch Bonnet sauces at HotSauceMall!
